Tycho Brahe was a famous astronomer. At the age of thirteen, he witnessed a total solar eclipse of the sun. Brahe became interested in studying the movements of stars and planets. Throughout his life, Brahe made several important observations. Johannes Kepler used these observations to come up with his laws on planetary motion.
Brahe was also amazing in his personal life. When he was a student at the University of Rostock, he got in a sword fight with another student (who was a better mathematician) and lost his nose. Brahe wore a prosthetic nose made of gold and silver for the rest of his life. He built a castle on the island of Hven. Last, but never least, Tycho Brahe bought a tame moose. This moose eventually died when a friend borrowed it for a party, where said friend got the moose drunk and it fell down the stairs.
